Aluminum plate temper

F temper aluminum sheet

(F) is as fabricated and there is no restriction on the state of aluminum plate. It is applicable to products without special requirements for work hardening and heat treatment during processing. The mechanical properties in this state are not specified.

O temper aluminum sheet

(O) is an anneale, fully soft, which is suitable for processing products with the lowest strength after complete annealing.

H temper aluminum sheet

(H) is strain hardened, the number shall be followed to indicate the degree of hardness and softness. It is applicable to the products that improve the strength through processing hardening. The products can go through (or not go through) additional heat treatment to reduce the strength after hardening.

The first digit followed H indicates the basic processing program to obtain the state, as shown below.
H1: simple process hardening state
H2: process hardening and incomplete annealing state
H3: process hardening and stabilization treatment state
H4: process hardening and painting treatment state.
The second digit followed H indicates the hardening degree of the product. For example, 0 ~ 9 represents that the processing hardening degree is getting harder and harder.

T temper aluminum sheet

(T) is thermally treated. The digit followed by “T” means the most commonly used and important sequences to be understood.

T1: Naturally aged after cooling from an elevated temperature of the forming process.
T2: Cooled from an elevated temperature of the forming process, cold worked, and naturally aged.
T3: Solution heat treated, cold worked, and naturally aged.
T4: Naturally aged after a solution heat treatment.
T5: Artificially aged after cooling from an elevated temperature of the forming process.
T6: Artificially aged after cooling from a solution heat treatment.
T7: Solution heat treated then overaged.
T8: Solution heat treated, cold worked, and artificially aged.
T9: Solution heat treated, artificially aged, and then cold worked.
T10: Cooled from an elevated temperature of the forming process, cold worked, and then artificially age.
